Riverside Tappahannock Hospital is a non-profit 67 bed facility caring primarily for citizens in the Tappahannock area, including Essex, King & Queen and King William counties and the Northern Neck counties of Richmond, Westmoreland, Northumberland, and Lancaster. RTH has been recognized for Top Performance in Quality 3yrs in a row by The Joint Commission. The laboratory, being a part of the larger Riverside Health System, has new state of the art Chemistry, Hematology, Blood Bank, Urinalysis and Microbiology instrumentation. The department is College of American Pathologist Accredited, and has an annual workload of 140,000 procedures, and growing.
