Machine Design Engineer --- Automotive Manufacturing and Assembly Processes Design automated to semi-automated equipment, fixtures or simple tooling to support running or potential new business. Must have the expertise to prepare detailed production machinery CAD designs, detail drawing packages, complete process FMEAs and provide accurate project timing and cost analysis. Background with automotive components preferred. Background with AutoCad Inventor and GD&T knowledge is desirable. Preferred Skills and background: Selection of electro-mechanical/pneumatic components used in automated systems Use of fiber optics, electrical test interfaces Component testing using leak test techniques proving compliance to customer specifications. Stamping/forming tooling, clamping mechanisms Exposure to turntables and indexing systems Understanding of basic wiring schematics.
