Turning waste into a resource Position overview: Participate at HHW collections by helping to 1) Off loading waste containers from participant cars, 2) Sorting various waste types by like materials for packaging, 3) Packaging waste containers in drums, roll-off, or other containers, 4) Setting up and taking down collection areas, 5) Opening containers and pouring off paint and other liquids into a drum, 6) Sampling, labeling, and closing up drums for shipment, 7) Properly loading and unloading trucks in the ten-day area with supplies and waste drums. Knowledge, Skills and Expertise: • Must pass medical physical and drug/alcohol tests • Willingness to work in various outdoor conditions • Strong safety awareness • Willingness to work safely with hazardous chemicals • Expertise to work well in small unsupervised teams • Physically able to stand for long periods of time • Willing to wear necessary PPE including respirator • Strong customer service orientation
