Underwriter II needed at Academy Mortgage - (Dallas, TX)

Underwriter Academy Mortgage Corporation is seeking an Underwriter to join our growing team. Role The Underwriter reviews, evaluates, and recommends approval or denial of mortgage loans applications, in compliance with company policy, and all applicable federal and state regulations and evaluates acceptability of loan to investors and recommends approval or rejection of the loan application in order to maximize organizational profit and minimize risk. Major Duties and Responsibilities § Reviews and evaluates details on mortgage loan documents to determine if borrower, property, and loan conditions meet company and government standards § Evaluates acceptability of loan to investors § Recommends approval or rejection of loan applications; if recommending rejection, escalates loan for a 2nd review § Communicates decisions to loan officers and processors § Assembles documents in loan file, including acceptance or denial, and moves loan to closing
