The Mechanical Engineer researches, develops, designs, and tests mechanical components, equipment, and systems while planning, directing, and coordinating project activities to ensure that project quality, cost, and timing goals are accomplished. DESIGN RESPONSIBILITIES Analyzes equipment specifications and performance qualifications to determine designs which can be produced by the manufacturing department. Provides technical info concerning manufacturing techniques, materials, and properties for equipment designs. Provides customer with product mechanical documentation. Confers with Controls Design/Programming and Manufacturing teams to clarify or resolve problems. Designs equipment or system layout and detailed drawings and schematics. Compiles and analyzes data to establish performance standards for newly designed or modified equipment.
