Direct Support Professional-Community Connections - (Springfield, MO)

A Direct Support Professional for the Community Connections department is an entry level position providing desired supports and assistance to persons with developmental disabilities in order that they may achieve the highest level of independent living possible within the community. A Direct Support Professional for the Community Connections Department provides supports to individuals with developmental disabilities by providing personal instruction, training, activity therapy, education, physical therapy, socialization and related areas. This employee assists in the implementation of the personal plans developed for each person requiring support or assistance; contributes to the development of integration opportunities desired by the individual; and establishes effective interpersonal relationships with the person being assisted, co-workers, parents and/or guardians, and other members of the treatment team.
