CT Technologist - PRN - (Lafayette, LA)

Position overview: Responsible for the performance of all radiographic, fluroscopic, and surgical C-Arm procedures. Expertise to work with patients of all ages. Able to maneuver equipment and patients. Utilizes computerized tomography (CT) scanners to produce cross-section pictures of patients’ internal organs and tissues for the diagnosis of medical issues. Accurately interpret a physician’s scanning instructions, administer contrast materials, prepare and operate the CT scan equipment and position the patient to capture the appropriate pictures. Performs CT procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. Performs those duties directly involved with a variety of technical procedures applying ionizing radiation for the purpose of detecting pathology. Regulates the equipment used to expose the x-ray imaging plate, processes, and archives PACS imaging. Operates equipment safely and maintains A.L.A.R.A. standards while performing all types of procedures.
