51096BR - Crashworthiness Engineer - (Farmington Hills, MI)

Automotive Crashworthiness Test Engineer In this position the applicant will be responsible for vehicle level and component crashworthiness. This includes digital planning/design, testing, analysis and development of vehicle and occupant safety performance. Thorough knowledge of FMVSS regulations is required as well as ability to analyze all types of crash data. The applicant will need good knowledge of restraint components, including seat belts and multiple types of air bags. Have good leadership skills to manage safety team work with multiple internal departments. Other assignments include maintaining program development schedules and meeting vehicle mass and cost targets. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Mechanical Engineering required Relevant experience in automotive safety Knowledge of CAE and FEA is a major plus Interpret crash test data from occupant injury and body structure standpoint; Mechanically inclined and have hands-on ability to analyze post test vehicle teardowns.
