Teacher Assistant/Aide Critical Action Items: * Responsibility for assisting in the education and daily program of the classroom. * Advocate for young children and their families. * Assists with implementation and coordination of all Head Start functions. * Identifies, reports, provides supportive services in child abuse/neglect cases, notifying immediate supervisor and appropriate agency. * Assist with each of the 2 home visits per child within the school term. * Assist in the implementation of lesson plans. * Maintains a cooperative attitude of working together with the teacher, volunteers, parents, and program specialists in planning and implementing activities. * Assists teacher to implement the developmental assessment for each child to determine the child's strengths and areas in which each child may need help.
