Blackbird Farm, Mendocino is a non-profit organization dedicated to educating students about sustainable living, agriculture, and livestock. We farm in a way that grows the best possible food, and grows the next generation of youth leaders along with it. We have a large kitchen garden and a farm plot maintained by visiting student groups plus orchards of pears, apples, cherries, plums and walnuts. Blackbird Farm is looking to hire a diesel mechanic. Perfect applicant must have your own tools and prior experience working with diesel engines and hydraulics. Experience with other heavy equipment such as bobcats, loggers, chippers, excavators, backhoes, Dozers, Skid steers preferred. Welding a plus but not required. We are looking for applicants with experience specifically in large loader backhoe, large excavator, high track caterpillar/dozer. Working hours are Monday - Friday, 8am - 4:30pm with a half hour lunch. Pay is dependent on your experience.
