The Village of Rantoul, Illinois CHIEF OF POLICE The Village of Rantoul, Illinois is seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of Chief of Police. Rantoul has a population of 13,000 within 7.24 square miles and is centrally located between Chicago, St. Louis, and Indianapolis. The Chief of Police is appointed by the Mayor with the approval of the Village Board and reports to the Village Administrator. Applicants must have a Bachelor's Degree in a related position with a Master's Degree preferred. Advanced requirements such as Illinois Certified Police Chief, Executive Management certificates including the FBI National Academy, Northwestern University Center for Public Safety or other similar State and/or National programs are also preferred. Applicants must have at least 7yrs of increasingly responsible administrative background in a law enforcement agency.
