Veterinary Assistant/Kennel Attendant - (Lagrange, GA)
The kennel assistants foremost responsibility is the care and upkeep of the kennel and the well-being of the animals in the clinic. They work directly with the animals in the clinic. Their job is to care for the patients that are hospitalized as well as the pets that are boarding, which includes cleaning their kennels, feeding and watering the animals and exercising them outdoors, as well as keeping the pets themselves clean (bathing). They are responsible for checking on the animals throughout their shift and reporting any findings back to the veterinary technicians and/or the doctor, therefore they must be accountable. They are also responsible for keeping the interior and exterior premises clean. This individual must be hard working, must be able to lift 40lbs without assistance, and must be very conscientious. They must be able to think on their feet, learn the daily routines and be able to carry them out without requiring constant supervision and direction.
