POSITION DETAILS: The Child LifeSpecialist support and nurture children and their families throughout theemotional and physical aspects of hospitalization. Provides education, prepare and supportchildren through difficult tests, procedures and sometimes drastic changes thathappen within their families due to chronic illness, treatment and recovery. REQUIRED FUNCTIONS: Work with ill or injured children,adolescents and their families to ease the anxiety and stress that comes with hospitalization. Ease the trauma of hospitalizationby providing interaction, play and relaxation. Develops and implementactivities such as art, cooking, recreation, and play to comfort the patient.
