Teacher Aide (438-088) - (Norwich, CT)

The Head Start Teacher Aide is responsible for the care, supervision, and safety of center children. Assist staff in planning and implementing age appropriate curriculum. Responsible for keeping classroom and playground clean, safe, and orderly. Must have compassion and understanding for the needs of children and families from economically and culturally diverse backgrounds. Must learn, implement, and follow all program policies and procedures. This position has nutrition duties attached to it. Position starts at: * $10.10 with the min requirements * $10.35 with 6 credits in ECE * $10.60 with twelve ECE credits Necessary skills: High-school degree or equivalent. Have access to reliable, insured transportation. Must have or obtain and maintain 1st-aid, CPR, and medication administration certification within 6 mnths of hire. Provide current physical and negative TB test results before or upon hire. Be able to work 25 hours/week, 42 weeks/year, from 7:00AM - 5:00PM to cover center operational hours.
