Food Pantry Coordinator - (Amherst, MA)
Position description: Under the direction of the Program Director, the Food Pantry Coordinator oversees the operations of the Food Pantry, including but not limited to supervision of the Pantry Assistant, coordination of Food Pantry volunteers, purchasing and restocking pantry items, coordination of monthly food pantry distribution programs, keeping accurate records and monthly statistics, preparing reports and sharing this info, as needed. The Food Pantry Coordinator must have relevant professional or volunteer background, an expertise to work and communicate effectively in a collaborative environment, understanding of food justice issues, knowledge of warehouse and inventory procedures, as well as background and competence working in communities of color and with groups of diverse socioeconomic backgrounds. Smooth operations are achieved through regular attendance, consistent and reliable direction and management of pantry staff, volunteers, interns and work-study students.
