Program Description: The Alabama Parent Training and Details Center (ALPTI) is a project of the Alabama Parent Education Center designed to empower and enable parents with children with disabilities to work collaboratively with schools and school districts to improve services for students with disabilities. The project works collaboratively with local, state, and national organizations to serve families of children with disabilities ages birth to 26 regardless of severity or type of disability. ALPTI provides training, info, and support to parents to assist them to communicate effectively, work collaboratively, and participate in decision making processes to enable their children to meet developmental and functional goals and challenging academic standards, transitional goals, and access needed community resources
