Medical Office Assistant, Certified - Physician Practice, Full Time - (Statesville, NC)

Assists in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician. Interviews patients, measures vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), and records info on patients' charts. May be required to draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis. Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients. Relies on limited background and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Typically reports to supervisor or manager.Requires a high-school degree or equivalent and a current medical assistant certificate. Current American Heart Association BLS certification and 1-3 yrs of previous background in a physician practice highly preferred.
