The Journal Star is looking for an assistant city editor with a keen eye for news stories that connect with readers--in print and through digital media.We---re looking for an experienced journalist to drive reputable beat coverage as well as breaking news and enterprise from start to finish. We value our role as a watchdog in the Capital City and provide opportunities to lead special projects focusing on state and local issues.We need someone who can motivate reporters as a strong mentor and function as part of a team including other editors, reporters, photographers and the on-line desk.This position mandates strong print and digital news judgment, familiarity with on-line and social media tools and a sense of urgency.A growing capital city, Lincoln has strong K-12 schools, a Big Ten university and cultural and recreational options.
