Visitor Services and Volunteer Coordinator - (Bedford, VA)

BEDFORD COUNTY VISITOR SERVICES AND VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR The Bedford County Department of Tourism is accepting applications for this full- time position. Applicant will be responsible for supervising and managing schedules of Customer Service Representatives and Volunteers to ensure adequate staffing coverage for the Welcome Center, which is open 7 days a week. Recruits and oversees retention of volunteers. Serves as primary contact for tour groups and facility rental requests. Work will be performed at the Bedford Area Welcome Center located at 816 Burks Hill Road. Must possess a high-school degree or general education degree (GED) with 2-3yrs job-related skills working with the public. Former background managing the operations of a visitor center or similar site, and managing a volunteer program preferred. Must have strong knowledge of the County of Bedford and tourist attractions within the County. Requires excellent people skills with the expertise to greet people and establish effective relationships.
