Microbiologist II - Decatur - (Decatur, IL)

Under limited supervision of the Microbiology Manager and Microbiology Supervisor, the Microbiologist II is responsible for performing microbiological testing of products and raw materials, reading environmental monitoring plates from controlled areas, validating routine microbiological methods, microbial identification work and other applicable duties. Must be able to perform the duties of the Microbiologist I. CRITICAL FUNCTIONS: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Performs routine microbiological testing of products and control environments according to SOPs and Methods. Documents routine procedures following laboratory and company guidelines. Reviews and approves work performed by technician and peers. Develops and validates microbiological test methods. Performs microbiological identifications. Performs microscopic particulate analysis of products and commodities. Coordinates and tracks testing required for completion of Microbial Product Development Report (MPDR).
