Firefighter - (Monroe, NC)

FIREFIGHTER - The City of Monroe is now accepting applications for the position of full time Firefighter to perform specialized firefighting, rescue, emergency medical and hazardous materials response work. Prefer certification, knowledge and/or work background in firefighting, rescue, emergency medical and hazardous materials. Requires the expertise to learn fire suppression, rescue, emergency medical and hazardous materials response techniques. High-school diploma or GED required. Must possess a valid driver's license. Must be of good moral character and must be eighteen years of age. Must meet and obtain all departmental training and certification qualifications for the position. Work schedule consists of a 24-hour rotating shift including holidays, weekends, and nights. A 30-mile living residency from the main station is required if hired. Starting salary is $35,876 annually. The expertise to speak Spanish is a plus.
