Senior Engineering Technician - (Salem, OR)

THE POSITION: Marion County is recruiting for a Senior Engineering Technician but may fill the position as an Engineering Technician 2, depending on applications received and the needs of the department. The level at which the successful applicant is hired will be determined by the hiring manager. TYPICAL DUTIES:Construction InspectionInspects quality of work and materials on all phases of capital improvements and resurfacing projects. Work includes survey work, utility relocation, excavation, placement and compaction of base rock and paving, and installation of curb and sidewalk, drainage, and traffic control devices, including traffic signals and striping. Verifies all aspects of the contractor's performance are in accordance with the plans, special provisions, standard specifications, standard drawings and other contract documents. Negotiates price agreements for extra work and processes change orders. Insures overall quality control on several projects in progress simultaneously. Troubleshoots design vs.
