Specific Duties and Critical functions Provide bedside guardianship of mental health and/or substance abuse patient Transport, by use of motor vehicle, of mental health and/or substance abuse patients Monitor, supervise and control patient behavior during the operation of the observation center; or restrain by force if necessary and other restraints to prevent the elopement of the patient Communicate effectively and coherently with hospital staff or patients with approved facility communication devices including the telephone system, intercom system, and portable or base radios; demonstrate effective communicative skills with detainees, public and hospital staff
