Americorps VISTA volunteer - (Charlotte, NC)

Men's Shelter of Charlotte will be adding four Americorps VISTA volunteers to our staff this May! Americorps VISTA is a year-long volunteer program (similar to a domestic Peace Corps program.) 2 VISTAs will assist with our work to connect men experiencing homelessness with housing and 2 VISTAs will work with our employment program. To apply, go to https:// >>> by March 30 th . Who We Are: Men's Shelter of Charlotte is committed to providing safe, emergency shelter while working to end homelessness for each man. We were created in 1981 by the faith community, as a winter shelter with a primary focus of keeping men from freezing to death. We have transformed through the years and now offer 350 beds year-round across 2 campuses with a focus on connecting our guests with income and housing. Beyond shelter, we also offer a growing rapid rehousing program. In general, we embrace innovation as we strive to be a best practice shelter and a leader in the fight to end homelessness.
