Process Engineer - Industrial Minerals Production - (Clayton, NC)

SUMMARY As a member of the Process Engineering Department, provide engineering, chemistry, mineral processing or materials science support to manufacturing efforts. Work with R&D, Manufacturing, Quality Control, Purchasing, EH&S and Marketing to support business objectives. MID-ATLANTIC US LOCATION. RESPONSIBILITIES Support efforts to develop new roofing granule products, lower cost or higher capacity production processes and to find uses for byproducts and waste. Conduct raw material (new, lower cost, or alternate source), new product and modified manufacturing process parameter (production rate, firing temperature, alternate formula) plant trials at each plant. Develop process improvements to reduce manufacturing costs and/or improve product quality. Assist with complaint investigations and plant technical problems. Develop process flowsheets for new processes and modified existing processes.
