Physical Therapist Assistant Position duties A Physical Therapist Assistant is responsible for providing physical therapy treatment under the supervision of a qualified Physical Therapist in accordance with the plan of care. Specific tasks assigned to a Physical Therapist Assistant: Perform all physical therapy procedures, planned and delegated, in the client's place of residence Administer non-complex therapeutic exercises, therapeutic massage, traction, heat, light, cold, water and electrical modalities to clients Instruct, motivate, and assist clients in learning and improving functional activities Observe client's progress and response to treatment and report findings Prepare clinical notes and progress reports Participate in case conferences, staff meetings, and in-service programs as required Skills Knowledge and expertise and the necessary skill and judgment to perform all procedures as outlined Expertise to contribute as a team player and expertise to work autonomously
