A key responsibility of this position is smoking the meats sold in the store. Also responsible for receiving, stocking, packaging and displaying meat product in the store Meat Department. Also greets and assists customes at the meat counter. SMOKER / MEAT HELPER DUTIES Key duties include, but are not limited to, the following: 1. Smokes the meat sold in the store, which requires use and cleaning of smoker equipment and utensils. 2. Wrap and package all meat products in the appropriate tray or container. 3. Create space for weekly ad promotions and plan for the display of merchandise in the display cases. 4. Keep meat cases stocked and ensure product is properly rotated and discarded if out of date. 5. Update weekly prices and labeled merchandise. 6. Count and record merchandise for inventory purposes. 7. Change shelf tags and price markers. 8. Prepare backroom for receiving merchandise. 9. Unload trucks, sort cases for stocking, and inspect merchandis for damage. 10.
