UNDERWRITER - SAN FRANCISCO, CA SUMMARY: Under general supervision and reporting directly to the Underwriting Manager, the Underwriter will evaluate and determine risk acceptance, coverage terms, and premium. Responsible for a profitable book of business, cultivating relationships with brokers/agency partners, direct accounts and key stakeholders. Required functions: Develop, grow and maintain a Profitable Book of Business in the assigned territory, using thorough risk analysis to determine responsible but competitive pricing and coverage needs. New Business: Evaluate opportunities; manage and analyze submissions received in the assigned territory working with Sales Representatives and/or account representatives. The UW is responsible for pricing new business in accordance with NORCAL Groups underwriting guidelines and personal underwriting authority level.
