Child Development Specialist, Group Home - (New Britain, CT)

POSITION OVERVIEW Klingberg Family Centers, Inc. Title: Child Development Specialist, Group Home Function: Under the supervision of the Group Home Supervisor, and/or the Group Home Assistant Supervisor, participates in the implementation of plans for the care, treatment, and rehabilitation of children or adolescents in residence, to meet the philosophical and treatment objectives of the Group Home and the agency. Capabilities required: The incumbent must possess basic understanding of pertinent principles and practices in the field of human services, and of child/adolescent dynamics and sociology of the family; facility in verbal/written correspondence at the comprehension levels of clients; basic background in working with children or adolescents; sound judgment; a valid, current driver's license; and the expertise to affirm the philosophies, policies, goals and heritage of the agency, together with the expertise to apply these philosophies and goals constructively in the performance of duties.
