Biobank Laboratory Coordinator - Kimmel Cancer Center - Full Time - (Philadelphia, PA)

Responsibilities Coordinate all aspects of SKCC bio-repository operations including customizing and optimizing specimen collection, processing, storage and shipping; Manage and regulate systems to annotate specimens and interface clinical info. Ensures that best practices are performed; knowledgeable about facility design, specimen storage and interfaces Set up infrastructure and standard operation procedures as needed Must maintain a solid understanding of bio-banking workflows, sample annotation and data entry are key issues in maintaining and enhancing the biological specimen inventory Responsible for using the database software as well as entering and retrieving data. Must have excellent management and communication expertise to be able to work directly with pathologists, pathologist assistants and clinicians to have smooth operations of depository processes, and work with informatics group to manage data and annotation
