Shakeout Operator - (Attica, IN)

Summary: Tends machine that segregates particles of dry materials such as sand, chills, rebar, etc. by sifting through 1 or more oscillating screens and operates a fork truck. Essential Duties and Assignments include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Pours or shovels specified quantities of material into hoppers or onto feed conveyor of machine. Positions takeoff conveyor, bins, or drums under screens to receive sifted material. Throws switch to activate takeoff conveyor or removes full containers manually or using hoist or truck. Learns the correct operation of all shakeout equipment. Records the molds that are shaken out. Lubricates machine and conveyors. Moves mold and flasks to and from shakeout operations. Operates fork truck in a safe and efficient manner. Follows company practices for operating fork trucks including inspections, maintenance checks, and reports. Assists with other foundry operations, when required.
