This position verifies insurance and does precertification of insurance for all patients admitted to a bed to reduce risk of payment denials. This position pre-registers all patients scheduled for inpatient or outpatient services and establishes appropriate payment arrangements with patient or guarantor. Medical necessity is reviewed for all outpatient Medicare pre-registrations. This position is very knowledgeable of various insurance including Federal and State guidelines and qualifications.
