Microbiologist - (Olive Branch, MS)

Microbiology Laboratory Technician Contract to perm first shift Microbiology Laboratory Technician Reports to Quality Assurance Manager KEY FUNCTIONS: Testing samples of raw materials, in-process bulk batches, finished bulk batches, and finished products that have microbiological specifications. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Make all preparations for microbial testing and organism identification. Air sampling and other environmental sampling and testing. Process water sampling and testing. Maintain stock cultures used in testing. Isolation and identification of microbial contaminants. Testing the efficacy of product preservatives. Maintaining records of all microbiological testing. Performing routine chemical analysis in analytical laboratory as necessary. Perform required testing on product as received from customer complaint. Perform all duties in a safe manner using proper tools and wearing appropriate protective equipment.
