Position description The Genomics Department in the Biological Defense Research Directorate (BDRD) of the Naval Medical Research Center (NMRC) has a mission to apply bioinformatics and cutting edge, high-throughput technologies such as genotypic and phenotypic expression profiling, biomarker characterization, bacteriophage science, etc. to the study of infectious diseases, biodefense, and enhanced global disease surveillance for early pathogen detection and response. We are seekeing a Senior Scientist with the following background: 1) Practical knowledge of basic and applied research including experimental design and methods, and must have demonstrated the expertise to perform original and competent research. 2) Expertise to manage a research program, including training of other scientists, technicians, and support personnel; and management of necessary resources including budget, supplies, equipment and facilities. 3) Background conducting research involving phage therapy.
