Position summary & Qualifications Psychiatrist - (Psych) Locum Tenens StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: eight Hour/Day A Psychiatrist is needed for a correctional facility in north central Ohio for an immediate and ongoing opportunity. The facility prefers a full-time provider but will also consider part-time. Physician duties will include evaluations, consults, and med management in an outpatient setting. A psychiatrist (locum tenens) is a mental health professional, who focuses on preventing, diagnosing, and treating mental illness. After completing medical school, a psychiatrist must also complete a 1 year internship and 3 additional years of specialized training as a psychiatric resident. In the treatment of mental illness, a psychiatrist is licensed to prescribe medication. Some conditions requiring medication include; depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and ADHD.
