Special Education Teacher Substitute - (Newark, NY)

Position description: Implement preschool special education programs as needed based on teacher absences with a potential for building a caseload of Early Intervention/SEIT Instructional caseloads and Early Intervention evaluations. Plans and implements special education programs in which all disciplines are involved in each individual child's program, and as a team assess, plan and carry out objectives in all skill areas as outlined on the IEP. Provide all children with developmentally appropriate preschool experiences with the High/Scope approach. Supervises and evaluates teacher assistant/aides, 1:1/1:2 teacher aides and foster grandparent in the classroom including biweekly timesheets. Completes required paperwork on an ongoing basis including but not limited to: data collection for IEP benchmark progress reports and regression documentation. Establishes good rapport with parents/guardians and is responsive to suggestions and concerns.
