Patient Accounts Associate (Patient Relations & Collections) - (Peoria, IL)

Responsible for supporting management in the billing and collection of accounts receivable for inpatient and outpatient, Home Care and Hospice accounts, cash application and reconciliation and/or resolving patient service issues. This position mandates basic understanding of the Revenue Cycle and the importance of evaluating and securing all appropriate financial resources for patients to maximize reimbursement to the health system. The Patient Accounts Associate must also have basic knowledge of accounting, healthcare, and general office procedures, and be capable of communicating clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing, with peers, supervisors, payors, physicians, patients, other departments, etc. This position impacts the clinical and financial integrity of the organization. MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Completion of high-school or its equivalent. Min of one to 2yrs in an office clerical setting or customer service environment is preferred. Background with office applications and Internet.
