Purchasing Manager - (North Kingstown, RI)

POSITION PURPOSE: To manage raw material commodity strategies and hold suppliers accountable for top performance in Chemicals, Packaging and MRO. This role is responsible for supply assurance and securing best overall value while continuing to ensure that purchased materials support quality, cost, delivery, and service levels. This position works closely with Finance, Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, R&D and Facilities, provides leadership in issue solving, price negotiations, cost containment strategies and enhancing supplier relationships. MAJOR JOB ASSIGNMENTS: Owns procurement, supplier relationships and supply assurance to keep the plant operating while managing day to day activities and resources for the Rhode Island purchasing group. Prepares and leads price negotiations strategies/tactics; avoids and/or mitigates increases and monitors feedstocks, currency, volumes and leverage points to proactively lower prices.
