Professions: Buyer I - North Kingstown, Rhode Island - (North Kingstown, RI)

POSITION PURPOSE: To support Rhode Island operations and plant management for all purchasing needs focused on Chemicals, Packaging and Filter, and MRO Equipment, Services and Supplies. Responsible for supply assurance which results in the best overall value while continuing to ensure quality products and services are received. To support all departments in issue solving, cost containment and effective communications both internally and externally. MAJOR POSITION DUTIES: Responsible for supply assurance to keep the plant operating involving significant interface with Manufacturing and Quality Assurance. Coordinates issue solving, supplier forecasts, meetings, mitigates price increases and negotiates cost savings. Negotiates MRO service contracts, creates purchase orders, and reconciles pending invoices. Plans qualifications and creates PO's for Packaging and Filters, changes and expedites. Act as the principal line of communication between suppliers, planning and manufacturing.
