Nuggs is an early-stage startup based in NYC. We believe while using public transportation, shopping with reusable bags, and taking shorter showers are all commendable, none of these actions has as big an impact on the environment as what you eat does. When it comes to climate change, animal agriculture is the leading culprit. The best action we can take to reduce climate change is to adopt a plant-based diet but expecting people to change their life long habits and to consciously become vegan is unrealistic. Our mission is to build a food system where food nourishes our bodies, sustains our planet, tastes amazing, and is accessible to everyone. To make this mission a reality we must create products that replace meat while having the same characteristics as meat. There are a few companies making plant-based meats, but most of them taste nothing like actual meat. The few that do taste identical to actual meat are only being targeted towards vegetarians and vegans.
