Social Sciences Writer - (Iowa City, IA)

The Office of Strategic Communication under the Assistant Vice President for External Relations is seeking a Writer/Editor to develop, write and pitch news and feature stories about the universitys people, programs, research, and activities in order to build the universitys brand position and increase understanding and trust with key internal and external stakeholders. 1 position will be hired for the beat area of Social Sciences.This position will serve as a public relations and communication advisor and liaison to administrators, faculty and staff in assigned areas; offer counsel on working with news media; assist with developing communication strategies and plans; and provide communication support for institutionally important stories, events, and messages.
