Engineering: VP of Engineering - San Francisco, California - (San Francisco, CA)

The VP of Engineering at Company is responsible for delivering on-time, high quality software releases that delight and empower our community. You will drive all aspects of engineering to make this happen, including hiring, development, testing, deployment, technology choices and Agile process. You’ll collaborate with engineers as well as the product and executive teams to develop and synthesize ideas into a coherent engineering strategy. This position reports directly to the CEO. Responsibilities: Define engineering strategy and roadmap in collaboration with the product and executive teams. Organize and cultivate a strong engineering team that can scale up in size and feature development. Recruit, interview, hire, manage and mentor teammates. Clearly communicate goals, plans, estimates, work in progress, trade-offs and tech debt to the product and executive teams. Define and run the team’s Agile processes. Define and enforce best practices for developing, testing and deploying software.
