3D Printing/Additive Manufacturing LCE R&D Scientist with Security Clearance - (Johnstown, OH)

We are looking for a qualified applicant to support a vibrant and active research effort ongoing at the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) in the Materials and Manufacturing Directorate. Working as an onsite contractor at AFRL is a unique opportunity to solve important, longterm challenges that guide research efforts in an environment that strongly encourages collaboration (government/academic/industry), publication in top journals, and conference attendance. The applicant will serve as an onsite contractor working with the AFRL team to develop the chemistries and processing methods required to 3D print anisotropic materials systems, such as liquid crystalline elastomers. The applicant is expected to collaborate together with polymer chemists, computational mechanical engineers, and process scientists. Skills and background of interest include rheology of soft matter, polymer science, characterization techniques, and mechanical testing.
