Phlebotomist - FT - (Oswego, NY)

POSITION: Phlebotomist DEPARTMENT: Laboratory SHIFT: Varies w/ Weekends & Locations HOURS BI-WEEKLY: 80 (Full-time -- Hourly) MAIN FUNCTION: Obtains blood samples from patients, residents, clients, and customers of all ages, from newborn to geriatrics, using the appropriate technique. Performs urine drug screen collections. Use hospital vehicle or personal vehicle, if hospital's vehicle is unavailable to safely transport specimens, requisitions and supplies from clinics or offices to the appropriate laboratory department. Practices all infection control standards. Must be flexible as phlebotomy site may vary. Expertise to work unaided. REQUIREMENTS: High-school diploma or GED required; graduate of phlebotomy/medical assistant program with phlebotomy internship rotation or EMT background desired. Unit specific orientation. Min of three months background wanted. Excellent driving skills with 4-five years of driving background with a clean driving history and reliable vehicle.
