Mining Enginner II - (Colstrip, MT)

Under the general direction of the Engineering Manager, the Mining Engineer will prepare mine plans and engineering designs. Perform monthly evaluations of productivity and economics of mine areas. Update geological models, design and layout mine passes, and forecast mine progression. Design haul roads, ramps, pond drainages, and dragline accesses. Evaluate purchase and use of mining equipment and mining methods. Plan and conduct work that requires judgment for independent evaluation, selection, and adaptation/modification of standard techniques and procedures. Perform tasks dealing with month end closing and forecast, survey files, short and long range mine plans, and ensure permits and conditions are met. A BS degree in Mining, Environmental or Civil Engineering is required as well as a min of five years working in mining or related position. Background in database and computer programs such as AutoCAD, Carlson, Microsoft word, Access and Microsoft excel is also required.
