Veterans Outreach Worker--Birmingham, Alabama Announcement-0165 Position overview: The Outreach Worker is responsible for providing outreach services in the identified areas for training and employment recruitment for homeless veterans who are in need of employment and supportive services. The Outreach Worker works closely with the Veterans Program Manager to accomplish the mission and service goals of Aletheia House. Areas serviced are Birmingham, Jefferson and Shelby counties. Key responsibilities: -Actively recruit Veteran participants who are in need of housing and supportive services. -Provide outreach and engagement services. -Conduct regular visits to homeless shelters and soup kitchens in the Birmingham VA medical Center, etc., as well as conducting street outreach in the alleys, encampments, and abandoned houses where many homeless veterans live.
