Instructor of Sociology - (Sugar Grove, IL)

Waubonsee Community College seeks a full time, tenure-track Sociology Instructor, who employs a theorist-based, culturally-relevant pedagogy, with a demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence, diversity and holistic student success, to deliver a wide spectrum of courses within the Sociology (SOC) curricular portfolio. The ideal candidate will be a strong presence in the SOC 100: Introduction to Sociology courses, delivering 2-3 sections per semester, with the knowledge and background to deliver SOC 130: Sociology of Family, SOC 210: Social Problems and SOC 240: Sociology of Deviance. Prepare course syllabi and design lessons, activities, assignments, and assessments to address different learning styles and ensure that students successfully meet the course objectives and outcomes. Incorporate learning-centered principles and concepts and motivate students to actively participate in all aspects of the educational background.
