Job overview The Personal Care Aide (PCA) provides specifically defined, non-medical care services under the supervision of the Supervisor of Direct Care services/Staffing Coordinator to enable the client to remain in the home. The PCA is a non-licensed employee who provides non-medical personal care and homemaking services in the home setting to clients and families who are unable to perform these activities independently. These non-medical tasks conform to the State of Washington’s definition in WAC 246-355-015. These tasks are ordinarily performed by the client, which if not for the client’s cognitive or physical limitation(s), would be completed independently by the client or family.
