Tooling Engineer - (Rutherfordton, NC)

DESCRIPTION We are currently seeking a strong Tooling Engineer at our Rutherfordton, North Carolina location for fast-paced, multi-shift operations. This is an extremely hands-on position requiring the perfect candidate to spend ample time on the production floor and be willing to literally get their hands dirty. This position will also be self-supportive with administration tasks. DUTIES Must read and understand part drawings and convert them into tool drawings. Establish parting lines, identify and locate datums and slide locations. Interface with the customer, interpret and evaluate the customer needs, and transfer details to the tool shops and within the company. Direct the tool shop in the design of the tools to make the best tool at the most cost effective price. Obtain quotation requests from Sales department. Analyze prints. Obtain all outside details necessary for quoting purposes. (Including trim dies, gages, fixtures, etc.) Submit Quotes to Sales department. Place tooling with tool shop.
