Insurance Specialist - (Wausau, WI)

Position details: Provide an excellent Patient care background to our Patients through insurance and accounts receivables work on behalf of our Patients. Critical functions and Responsibilities: 1. Review balances on Patient accounts, both personal, Workers Compensation and/or insurance balances. a. Follow-up on outstanding unpaid claims for both insurances and Workers Compensation. b. Refile and/or appeal claims to obtain max payment. c. Review write-offs and adjustments monthly or weekly, as processed, with the Supervisor. 2. Monitor the insurance accounts receivables by aging category, working with the Supervisor to focus on issues and systemic problems. 3. Follow Workers Compensation claims to ensure payment. a. Refer problems to the Workers Comp Coordinator for case management assistance as needed. b. Appeal denials with primary insurance, working to avoid timely filing denials, pending resolution of the Workers Comp decision and claims.
